2bme, LLC, is pleased to announce the release of their first publication and educational children’s book, Ned & Rosco. This is an entertaining and educational children’s book, where kids and adults alike can learn about the psychology of human personality. It is written and illustrated to reflect the various human personality types, focusing on extroversion and introversion. Ned & Rosco follows the story of a studious, introverted turtle, Ned, and a lively, extroverted puppy, Rosco. Despite their polar opposite personalities, Ned and Rosco become friends when they realize they can help each other, utilizing each other’s differing individual perspectives.
Ned & Rosco teaches readers, children and adults, about human personality and the importance of cooperation. Young readers gain insights into their developing personalities and learn how to interact with others that are different from them. With new knowledge about human personalities, curious readers can find out their personality type by visiting the affiliated 2bme website.
Robin Robinson, author of Ned & Rosco, explains the inspiration behind her story. “In my early career, I worked with young children in the U.S. and Japan as an early childhood literacy teacher. Later, as a medical school student affairs coordinator, I was introduced to the Myers Briggs personality test as a way to build effective teams among medical students. I had long wanted to write a children’s book and when I saw the adorable puppy and turtle characters in the 2bme personality test, I was inspired to write a story that could help parents and teachers nurture the nature in the children they love.”
By imparting personality insights at such an early age, Ned & Rosco helps children become more socially aware and contemplative. Parents and teachers can also build a stronger relationship with their children, as they begin understanding individual personalities and motivations. Accessible and playful, Ned & Rosco provides children with an entertaining fable where they can self-reflect and begin to grasp the qualities that make them each unique. Not only do adults bond with their children as they read together, but both kids and adults obtain a deeper connection when reading Ned & Rosco, as they learn about each other’s particular personality.
Ned & Rosco is currently available in hard cover on Amazon and on NedandRosco.com. In addition, a free, animated video can also be found on the Ned & Rosco website.
There are few medicines that I ever take… I’ve always hated the taste as a kid and I can barely take a pill without a gag reflect (I don’t know) I’m weird like that… so early on I kind of found my way to Robitussin®. Of course it’s always done the job that I have needed it to do… Robitussin has effectively treated cough, cold and flu symptoms for more than 50 years, and is doctor recommended and the #1 pharmacist recommended brand among cough, cold and flu liquid combination products.
Like many this season, I got sick (and not just in terms of the amount of snow)….and I turned to Robitussin to help me feel better. I think the worst part about being sick is when you cough so much at night you can’t sleep—and Robitussincan obviously read my mind. New this season, Robitussin has introduced a maximum strength DM nighttime formula to control cough to help you get the sleep you need to feel better.
Of course once I get a cold I get a cough – fun fact – up to 50% of people who have a cold will develop a cough. The worst is that a prolonged cough could cause some serious issues like chest pan, exhaustion, light-headedness, and well you certainly won’t be popular at work or in social settings. Thankfully, to help families avoid the “COUGHequences” of cold and flu this season, Robitussin has a variety of products tailored to effectively treat different symptom combinations.
Did you know? The common cold is a leading cause of doctor visits, with over 100 million visits paid to the doctor each year. It also causes 22 million missed days from school, as well as 20 million lost work days in the United States annually.
Prevalence: At the peak of the 2012-2013 cold and flu season, nearly 50 million adults and children experienced cold and flu symptoms – that’s six times greater than the population of NYC! Most adults have 2-4 colds per year, while children average 6-10 colds annually. On average, 5% to 20% of the population gets the flu annually.
Cause: Flu is caused by influenza viruses that infect the throat, nose and lungs. Common colds can be caused by over 200 different viruses.
Visit www.COUGHequences.com to see the consequences of not treating your symptoms, and the benefits of treating with Robitussin. Watch the COUGHequence videos and you’ll be entered to win one of three sweepstakes – including a $10,000 trip for two!
DreamWorks Pictures’ “Need for Speed” marks an exciting return to the great car culture films of the 1960s and ’70s, when the authenticity of the world brought a new level of intensity to the action on-screen. Tapping into what makes the American myth of the open road so appealing, the story chronicles a near-impossible cross-country journey for our heroes — one that begins as a mission for revenge, but proves to be one of redemption. Based on the most successful racing video game franchise ever with over 140 million copies sold, “Need for Speed” captures the freedom and excitement of the game in a real-world setting, while bringing to life the passion for the road that has made our love of cars so timeless.
The film centers around Tobey Marshall (Aaron Paul), a blue-collar mechanic who races muscle cars on the side in an unsanctioned street-racing circuit. Struggling to keep his family-owned garage afloat, he reluctantly partners with the wealthy and arrogant ex-NASCAR driver Dino Brewster (Dominic Cooper). But just as a major sale to car broker Julia Maddon (Imogen Poots) looks like it will save Tobey’s shop, a disastrous race allows Dino to frame Tobey for a crime he didn’t commit, and sending Tobey to prison while Dino expands his business out West.
Two years later, Tobey is released and set on revenge — but he knows his only chance to take down his rival Dino is to defeat him in the high-stakes race known as De Leon — the Super Bowl of underground racing. However to get there in time, Tobey will have to run a high-octane, action-packed gauntlet that includes dodging pursuing cops coast-to-coast as well as contending with a dangerous bounty Dino has put out on his car. With the help of his loyal crew and the surprisingly resourceful Julia, Tobey defies odds at every turn and proves that even in the flashy world of exotic supercars, the underdog can still finish first.
“Need for Speed” is presented by DreamWorks Pictures, produced by Patrick O’Brien, John Gatins and Mark Sourian, and directed by Scott Waugh. The screenplay is by George Gatins. The story is by George Gatins & John Gatins, and, based on the video game series created by Electronic Arts. .

TWO FAMILIES FIND HEALTH SUCCESS, LOSING A TOTAL OF 135 POUNDS AND RESULTING IN A 4-YEAR-OLD WHO DEMANDS HIS BROCCOLI!
Two Colorado moms say portion control and balanced nutrition are just part of the solution to help everyone reach weight loss goals in 2014
When Grace Stean, a flight attendant and mom was diagnosed with severe hypertension, she knew she had to make some lifestyle changes. Not only did she want to manage her condition through diet and exercise, it also made her turn her attention to the health of her growing son, 4-year-old Luke. She worried he would become a childhood obesity statistic, given that the Centers for Disease Control has seen a doubling in the past 3 decades.
Nearby in Longmont, Colorado, her friend Sheila Kemper Dietrich and family were also worried as well about losing weight and had been for years. That’s why Sheila sat down and invented Kidliga and Livliga, portion control dishware, With an advisory board including a physician and certified nutritionist, Kemper Dietrich created a tool adults, parents and children can use to make permanent, healthy habits easy for lifestyle, weight loss, weight management and balanced nutrition. And it’s needed. More than a third of Americans (37.5%) are classified as obese while two-thirds are now overweight.
Using her own creation, Sheila, her husband and daughter have lost a total of 115 pounds and are still working toward their goals. Grace Stean has lost 20 pounds using Livliga and is now a yoga aficionado. Grace uses Kidliga dishes with Luke and teaches him with its accompanying storybook, Sammie & Sax in the Land of Quinoa: The Search for a Balanced Meal. Learning healthy habits at such a young age is having an amazing result, with Luke regularly requesting broccoli at home and in restaurants, developing a love of fish and quinoa and less picky eating.
Grace says, “He already ignores any type of fast food or French fries, which is terrific! My hope is with the Kidliga influence that when he’s on his own and grown up, he’ll continue making healthy food choices and won’t be swayed by peers he sees eating junk food.”
Both women say their different approach can help everyone trying to improve their health starting now through 2014. Here are some tips and information they want to share with you:
Drop the guilt and acknowledge that as a country, we are being manipulated into a psychology of overeating. Plate sizes have grown by 51% since 1900. Furthermore, do you know plate colors affect how much you eat? The Journal of Consumer Research shows the size and color of bowls and plates influence how much we eat. Study results showed that on average, changing the color of the plate so it highly contrasted the food reduced how much volunteers served themselves by 21%.
Take control of managing your food environment and understand the relationship of plated food to eye to brain. The same amount of food on a portion control plate will look much larger to you than the same food on a larger plate. Consider this as you plate or use a portion control plate such as Livliga as an easy solution. Livliga’s unique design on the plate also makes the food look plentiful. Take a moment to really look at the plated meal.
Acknowledge meal times with focus and intent. Sit down and breathe. Don’t eat on the run or eat quickly. Don’t graze. If we’re grazing, our bodies never gear up to properly metabolize food.
Don’t go it alone in trying to figure out your calories burned vs. calories consumed ratios. Using the SuperTracker on the the USDA MyPlate in conjunction with portion control dishware created using those same guidelines is key. MyPlate is the U.S. government’s nutrition guide for what a person should consume on a daily basis for a balanced diet.
Following these simple tips and using Kidliga and Livliga can help maintain healthy habits starting now. With these easy everyday tools extend your strong course to optimum wellness and your healthier future!
ABOUT KIDLIGA:
Kidliga is a right-sized dishware set that offers visual cues to guide kids to serve themselves just-right portions on their plates at every meal. The accompanying children’s book, Sammie & Sax in the Land of Quinoa: The Search for a Balanced Meal, is the winner of a 2013 Bronze Moonbeam Award for best health book! It’s a fun, engaging, well-designed teaching tool, providing recipes, a teaching guide, and subtle lessons about a balanced meal.
The book tells the story of two curious kids, Sammie and Sax, and their dog Rhubarb as they search for a balanced meal. The dishware features these characters along with specifically sized icons to represent the appropriate amount for each food group as designated by the USDA/MyPlate.gov. In addition to the dishware and the children’s book, the Livliga website offers activities and recipes that can be downloaded to engage the whole family in learning about healthy eating in an adventurous and interactive way.
Kidliga is available now at the discounted price of $49.95. Sets may be ordered at www.LivligaHome.com.
ABOUT LIVLIGA: Livliga (www.LivligaHome.com) was founded in March of 2011. The company was conceived out of the personal need for a solution to our supersized world surrounding eating. Sheila Kemper Dietrich assembled a team of experts with a combined 70 years of experience to create a suite of affordable tableware that will contribute to solving the obesity epidemic. Livliga is available as well online.
SeekingSitters offers tips for finding a sitter on the “most requested night of the year”
This Valentine’s Day, ‘may all your troubles be forgot’ – because you booked childcare early enough to make time for shopping, cooking and parties. It may be the most important item to cross off your to-do list.
The closer it gets to the Valentine’s Day, the harder and more expensive it gets to find a trustworthy, qualified sitter. At SeekingSitters, Valentine’s Day is one of the most requested night of the year. The nationwide babysitting referral service provides experienced, entertaining and thoroughly screened sitters who have CPR and First Aid training.
“It’s stressful enough without having to worry about finding a sitter at the last minute who you trust with your children and want in your home,” Adrienne Kallweit, founder of SeekingSitters said. The mother of three and licensed private investigator found herself in that predicament in the past, which is why she and her husband founded SeekingSitters to help other parents.
“We have in-house licensed private investigators who thoroughly pre-screen all of our sitters, we interview them face-to face and verify they have extensive childcare experience to make it safe and fun for your kids,” Kallweit said.
Hiring your own sitter? Kallweit has three tips to ring in the New Year right
· Don’t Wait – Figure out the dates, that you’ll need a babysitter. Put the dates and times in writing and give them to your sitter. Get a firm commitment from the sitter and let them know you’re asking early to make big plans. Ask other families if the sitter you’re considering has a history of being responsible, on time and reliable.
· Thoroughly Screen the Sitter – Call their references and verify their First Aid and CPR credentials. .Interview potential childcare workers face-to-face and ask tough questions about how they handle disciplinary and emergency situations. Invest in a background check through a licensed private investigation firm.
· Offer Holiday Pay – Pay your sitter a little extra during this holiday to acknowledge their efforts during this time of year. Also give them a few extra dollars if the sitter has prepared things to do with your kids, such as making crafts and gifts.
