While most people would love to forget what they looked like in the 80’s (come on those fashions?!). There is one part of the 80’s that many find nostalgia for, which is the television shows… I dont know what it was but those 80’s generated many megahit TV shows… some carried on well into the 90’s. Full House was a great example the changing times and modern family dynamics.
Well thanks to the super smart people at Netflix we now have a 6 episode season of Fuller House, pretty much fast forward 10 plus years later. The show still lives up to the nostalgia factor for sure… its also pretty amazing how none of the cast has aged at all.
A recently widowed D.J., the mother of a 12-year-old, 7-year-old, and a newborn son, finds a few extra roommates in her sister, Stephanie, who is trying to be a musician, and her best friend Kimmy, who is the mother of a teenage daughter.
Toys“R”Us announced a brand new PLAY WITH PURPOSE fundraising and awareness campaign in partnership with Save the Children (a nonprofit committed to ensuring all U.S. children have a healthy start). Together, they are embarking on a mission to provide children in impoverished regions of the country with opportunities and resources to integrate purposeful play into their everyday lives; a factor proven critical in children’s emotional, physical and cognitive development and future growth.
15.5 Million U.S. Children Live in Poverty; Many Lack Playtime in Their Daily Lives
10 Minutes of Play Improves Children’s Performance
Play Enhances the Progress of Early Development by 34%
From February 17 – April 17, customers can make cash donations at any Toys“R”Us or Babies“R”Us store, or online at Toysrus.com/PlayWithPurpose, to help bring learning through play to kids in need.
Play With Purpose campaign is designed to support Save the Children’s early childhood development programs – Early Steps to School Success, Literacy/Healthy Choices and the SummerBoost Initiative – which help children in some of America’s most underprivileged areas thrive.
Together, Toys“R”Us and Save the Children are embarking on a mission to provide some of the 15.5 million youth living in impoverished regions of the country with opportunities and resources to integrate purposeful play into their everyday lives; a factor proven critical in children’s emotional, physical and cognitive development and future growth.
Through the good work of Save the Children’s early childhood development programs and field representatives, underprivileged families from Washington state to Washington D.C. are able to reap the benefits of hands-on involvement, as they embrace unstructured playtime in their homes. Statistics serving as the foundation of this campaign include:
Play builds the foundation for a lifetime of learning
Pretend play with a child from 8 to 17 months old is linked to higher intellect at age 5
Young children benefit from interaction, babbling, facial expressions and gestures, the absence of which from adults can lead to disparities in learning and behavior
In one study, children ages 1 ½ to 2 ½ who were provided sets of plastic building bricks had significantly higher language scores six months later
Even 10 minutes of play can improve a child’s performance, may encourage thinking and successfully controls behavior
Children with access to a variety of toys reach higher levels of intellectual achievement
Unless you’re living under a rock you’ve heard of comic con so imagine that play fair is comic con for Toys! Let me tell you its going to ROCK!

Finally if all that wasn’t enough you’ll get up close and personal with the new Bat Mobile from Batman Vs Superman!
In prep for the big event we got some mystery boxes and boy were they packed with some of the latest and greatest toys…
Folkmanis Mini Duckling Finger Puppet was so cute and really cool mission behind it because Folkmanis believes imagination is the key to a healthy childhood, encouraging play and discovery to develop the skills necessary in life. With a soft plush Mini Duckling finger puppet chirps happily with a little shake.

Its been a big month for Netflix in the Kids department it started with their original series of DRAGONS: RACE TO THE EDGE: SEASON 2 which for any Dragons fans has been a big hit. Now they’re starting EVER AFTER HIGH: DRAGON GAMES, which I think will be a big hit with preteen girls.
Adding to ANGRY BIRDS TOONS Season 2, ICE AGE: THE MELTDOWN, SOFIA THE FIRST: SEASON 2. It would almost like just another month till you think about the amazing new episodes of Croods.
Dawn of the Croods is a great adventure for those that loved the movie… the series is a nice to keep moving the story forward. You can watch all of their pre-hysterical adventures now on Netflix.
I know lots of people that work in IT and when you go to their home they have professional wifi gear and tons of security equipment, then I go to some friends and families that don’t have any security on their home network. It really makes you wonder where do you feel safe… and I’m loving the new Bitdefender BOX. This simple little box which handles a great number of the tasks that a professional grade IT appliance would do is amazing.
It was very easy to get up and running within moments and offers a number of security options for your device and your network. First you get to pick if its a guest device or a family device. Either way you’ll be adding a major layer of protection as it can help to identify malware and other undesirable thing that can attack you via the web.
You configure the device from this simple to use iphone or android app and take about 20 minutes soup to nuts for most common home network configurations. I only wish there was some more advanced view into the computers on your network. I would recommend everyone with kids or parents who are always picking up a virus to grab a Bitdefender BOX and get your network a little more secure.
You can also enter to win a Bitdefender BOX by sharing how many connected devices you have, or sharing why you want to win a Bitdefender BOX using #ProtectedByBOX and tagging @BitdefenderBOX on Twitter or #BitdefenderBOX on Instagram.

There are many devices out there that will store tv content and give you the ability to playback to a mobile device but this month that feature was introduced into the FiOS Mobile App. This feature let subscribers to FiOS Quantum TV and FiOS Internet stream “nearly all” DVR-recorded shows from anywhere with an Internet connection. This is a MAJOR improvement to just be able to watch live streams of whats currently being broadcast.
“The latest innovations of the FiOS Mobile app are how today’s consumers want to watch TV and view content,” Susan Retta, vice president of consumer marketing for Verizon, said in a statement. “These new features allow our customers to take their home FiOS TV experience with them and to enjoy it whenever and wherever they go.”
Eligible subscribers can download the FiOS app from the iTunes App Store or Google Play and start streaming recorded shows immediately. The app also allow for access to thousands of On-Demand titles and on-the-go management of DVR recordings.
This year you can celebrate as a family and still have time for a parents-only party with a whole new set of New Year’s Eve countdowns, available today only on Netflix, designed for preschoolers, tweens and everyone in between. You choose when to say goodnight, and kids choose how to celebrate with their favorite characters.
Already dreaming about pressing play on that New Year’s Eve celebration long before the clock strikes twelve? You’re not the only one. According to a recent survey from Netflix, 9 is the new midnight for parents in the U.S., with nearly half of parents (48%) saying they’d ring in the new year by 9 p.m.
So grab your party hats, noisemakers and 2016 glasses — and celebrate those famous 10 seconds, whether the ball has dropped or not. We won’t tell your kids it’s not midnight if you don’t.
Kids can pick their favorite character or ring in the new year again and again with countdowns featuring Oona and Baba of Puffin Rock, Care Bears & Cousins, Inspector Gadget, the Project Mc2girls, King Julien, or Mr. Peabody & Sherman and all their DreamWorks Animation friends
