One thing that we’ve made progress on in this world is going green. It’s the buzz terms of the last five years. You’ve heard it from Oprah to the nightly news and unless you’ve got a kid or a pet most likely you’re still cleaning your house/apartment with harsh stuff – and believe sometimes that’s the only thing that will get the job done – but nowadays there is other options…. We’ve been using a combo of bother Dapple and Seven Generation products in our home since Kiddo was born.
A little while ago during Spring Cleaning my wife was stressed with childcare, work, and everything else she does and we decided to call in the heavy hitters at Keep Your Home Clean [Link] – they’ve like the green clean crew. Between the website, facebook page, and twitter feeds they’re not only selling a service (which by the way is great) but they’re also putting out there resources and tips of how to bring green cleaning into your own home.
Living in the city is awesome for many things but finding quality help sometimes is tough. Marzena the owner of Keep Your Home Clean and I were introduced on twitter and we had been having a dialog about what we do around the house to keep it clean and really it was about kid friendly clean. I know my wife had put some efforts into being kid friendly but I wasnt sure just how much until we had the Keep Your Home Clean team come in and do a once over before a visit from my mother in law. The team cleaned house literally – it was spotless and well worth the money. We’ve used the service since that first time as well.
Comfort that Marc was able to play right away after a room was done instead of waiting for fumes or other things to clear out was so great (since we have very little room for him to play in normally its hard to stay out of rooms). I had a chance to play the Wii version which of course give you motion controls… Which makes it a super fun game but on the Xbox 360 version you get kick as graphics. The game translates really well on both platforms and has been so much fun to play (even after the kiddo goes to sleep).
Looking forward to see more games in the Backyard sports series… still crossing fingers for a kickball/dodgeball game!

Living in New York City you quickly become aware of the price of space and just how precious it is… Trust those rumors of 800 square feet apartments for as much as a mortgage payment somewhere else it is completely true. The thing that is almost universal with parents these days is the need for different types of strollers. We have had 3 strollers and currently only use two… a bugaboo that is great for walking around the city and a maclaren which is pure mobile and lightweight (this isnt a stroller review post so I’m just leaving it at the simple facts of how/why we have two strollers). We use the bugaboo daily and maybe the maclaren twice or three times a week, so we had an issue with having two strollers always open in our hallway, once you enter the apartment all the time. In a moment that could only be fate – we received a mailer showing use the great use of the MetroTots Strollaway.
The Strollaway is a beast made out pure metal could support the weight of the bugaboo but we only use it for the maclaren. It works great and doubles as towel or clothes hook if need be. We use it over a bedroom door and collapse the stroller to hide it behind the door. we gain the footprint of a stroller back from the entrance to our apartment, which as you can imagine is a nice bonus in NYC.
The hardest part of the install was removing it from the packaging, since there is no screws or parts to assemble its ready to go out of the package.

There are tons of things that make my son smile – which makes me smile but one thing he’s just getting the hang of is the bounce/play of a ball but for the last year he loved nothing more then to chase down and pop bubbles. His face would light up as it went pop, he would chase a stray bubble around the room. Its pretty magical to watch a child play with a bubble.
Capturing the image of child playing with bubbles could be amazing something that you might want to hang on your wall.
