Disney Social Media Moms 2014: “The Magic of Healthy Living”

Disney Social Media Moms 2014: “The Magic of Healthy Living”

13774966535_5c76f13b66_oAs part of the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration, we were treated to a wonderful dinner at Disneyland’s Big Thunder Ranch on the first night of the conference. The dinner, focused on on “The Magic of Healthy Living,” emphasized the importance of eating well and staying in shape. Particularly featured were Disney’s  line of flavored apple slices (apples infused with flavors like grape, blue raspberry, and vanilla), as well as their “Snackers” and “Foodles,” which are snack packages containing healthy treats like grapes and cheese, apple slices, pretzels, and yogurt.

We got to sample some of the flavored apples and the snack packs, and they were pretty great. I especially enjoyed the grape-infused apples, and the Avengers-themed pretzel, cheese, and apple “Snackers” were a big hit!

Overall, Disney’s got some great snack options for kids and “grown-ups” alike, and to someone as health-conscious as I am, that means a lot. I definitely see us picking up some of Disney’s “Snackers,” “Foodles,” and flavored apples in the future.

Check out Disney’s “Foodles,” “Snackers,” and apple slices at a grocery store near you, and in the gallery below!

Kidfresh Frozen dinners while enjoying Disney’s Frozen movie #FrozenKidfresh

Kidfresh Frozen dinners while enjoying Disney’s Frozen movie #FrozenKidfresh

products-frozen-wagonwheels-lg-disneyA while ago we discovered Kidfresh meals for my son… he loves them… Wagon Wheels Mac + Cheese and the Muy Cheesy Quesadillas are his favorites. The meals are actually fairly healthy and he loves them. When you have a picky eater (and we all know that at some point your kid will be a picky eater). These have been AWESOME! I could go thru a list of 20 things for dinner some cooking, some ordering in, but whenever I get to the KidFresh item in the freezer that’s usually the end of the discussion.

Whats better then dinner and a movie? how about a Frozen dinner while watching Disney’s Frozen on BluRay.  Kidfresh has a special offer for a $5 rebate when you purchase any 2 meals and the Frozen BluRay. Here are some awesome activity sheets like a Frozen coloring page or a Frozen maze and puzzle sheet.

Nothings better then a family dinner where the kids actually eat and then we turned on Frozen and enjoyed one of the best Disney movies since Lion King.

This is a great little add on that will help your child interact with the app much like they do with pen and paper.

It’s a little pricey from Apple but keep your eye on some other places like QVC.  I will say its also important to make sure you’re running the latest and great iOS version you need iOS5 and higher (which shouldnt be a big deal for any iPad).

It’s Official: J.J. Abrams to Direct Star Wars: Episode VII!

“It’s very exciting to have J.J. aboard leading the charge as we set off to make a new Star Wars movie,” said Kennedy. “J.J. is the perfect director to helm this. Beyond having such great instincts as a filmmaker, he has an intuitive understanding of this franchise. He understands the essence of the Star Wars experience, and will bring that talent to create an unforgettable motion picture.”

George Lucas went on to say “I’ve consistently been impressed with J.J. as a filmmaker and storyteller.  He’s an ideal choice to direct the new Star Wars film and the legacy couldn’t be in better hands.”

“To be a part of the next chapter of the Star Wars saga, to collaborate with Kathy Kennedy and this remarkable group of people, is an absolute honor,” J.J. Abrams said. “I may be even more grateful to George Lucas now than I was as a kid.”

J.J., his longtime producing partner Bryan Burk, and Bad Robot are on board to produce along with Kathleen Kennedy under the Disney | Lucasfilm banner.

Also consulting on the project are Lawrence Kasdan and Simon Kinberg.  Kasdan has a long history with Lucasfilm, as screenwriter on The Empire Strikes Back, Raiders of the Lost Ark and Return of the Jedi. Kinberg was writer on Sherlock Holmes and Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

Abrams and his production company Bad Robot have a proven track record of blockbuster movies that feature complex action, heartfelt drama, iconic heroes and fantastic production values with such credits as Star Trek, Super 8Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol, and this year’s Star Trek Into Darkness. Abrams has worked with Lucasfilm’s preeminent postproduction facilities, Industrial Light & Magic and Skywalker Sound, on all of the feature films he has directed, beginning with Mission: Impossible III. He also created or co-created such acclaimed television series as FelicityAliasLost and Fringe.
