Body and Brain Connection for Xbox 360 Kinect by NAMCO Bandai Games Review and Giveaway

Body and Brain Connection [http://amzn.to/iswHrW] is the first Brain Training game available on Xbox 360 with Kinect, and the only game worldwide to integrate cerebral and physical challenges for the optimal gaming experience. And given its multiplayer mode and ease of use, whole families can enjoy and receive the benefits of Body and Brain Connection’s myriad of mini-games, challenges and exercises.

Exercise your brain…with your body!
Developed under the supervision of renowned Japanese neuroscientist Dr. Ryuta Kawashima, Body and Brain Connection revolutionizes the mega-popular Brain Training genre he helped originate with an all-new, unique blend of physical and cerebral challenges. With Dr. Kawashima’s latest research proving that brain activity is augmented by physical movement, Body and Brain Connection challenges players to exercise both their minds and bodies with fun, fast-paced mini-games ranging from math, logic and memory to reflex and physical-orientation exercises.

Key Game Features

  • Fun For All Ages and Brains – With no controllers necessary and an E-for-Everyone rating, Body and Brain Connection brings whole families together regardless of age or skill level!
  • Doctor Approved – Dr. Kawashima, originator of the Brain Training genre, has supervised and approved every aspect of Body and Brain Connection, guaranteeing it’s as fun and challenging as it is cutting-edge!
  • Unparalleled Replay Value – Combining 4-player competition and 20 exercises with the full-motion capabilities of the Xbox 360® Kinect™ Sensor, Body and Brain Connection ensures hours of replayability!
  • First Brain Training Title on Xbox 360 with Kinect – Body and Brain Connection is the only game of its kind on Xbox 360 with Kinect and the first Xbox 360 with Kinect release for Namco, delivering a wholly unique experience to an entirely new audience!
  • Robust In-Game Tracking – Body and Brain Connection boasts persistent data tracking and exercises that can be customized for individuals as well as groups, ensuring a fun, engaging experience for all!

The game makes you think and move all at the same time – its a little tough at times and certainly not for kids younger then 6.  I enjoyed the game play value and it certainly got me into rivalry with my wife fast enough.  There are some challenges that I just found really hard myself but I have been playing with it seeing if I can improve my “brain age” so there is a replay value there…. but I think its ideally great for having friends over and playing it like a party game or being able to show off the kinects skills.

How to win it… Contest ends 11:59pm EST. June 2nd, 2011.

2K Play’s Carnival Games: Monkey See, Monkey Do – Exclusively on Kinect for Xbox 360 Review and Giveaway

When a Wily Wizard, Mischievous Monkey and Boastful Barker fit prominently into your family game night, it can only mean 2K Play’s Carnival Games: Monkey See, Monkey Do [amazon] is now available in North America exclusively on Kinect for Xbox 360. The latest in gaming technology allows players to actually speak to the Wizard to learn their future, challenge the Monkey to a “Cotton Eye Joe” dance-off and contemplate the Barker’s generous offer to swim in the Shark Tank. The game is out now.

The game is super fun for both adults and kids, the hands free controller aspect is amazing (still one of my favorite features of kinect. The games are really good for parties as well as casual afternoon game play with a few kids.  I think the game line up is terrific and even the way they break the menus up to be in sections of the carnival really lend itself to the game.  If you have kids that love carnivals or games that are physical puzzles or eye/hand movement type games then this will be right up their alley.  I think this game is great for ages 4-11 but there is a ton of game play value for older kids and adults (as I love playing the game too).

Carnival Games: Monkey See, Monkey Do features five theme-park alleyways – from Coaster Corner to Whirligig Way – housing twenty colorful midway games and attractions. Players of all ages can compete against friends and family as they go for the Knockout Punch against a heavy bag that fights back, twist their body in Crash Test Dummy, leap into a space-age journey in Rocket to Mars, catch coins while roller-coasting down Gold Rush Mountain and much more.

“We built Carnival Games: Monkey See, Monkey Do from the ground up to take full advantage of the one-of-a-kind technology in Kinect for Xbox 360,” said Steve Lux, vice president for business development for 2K Play. “From the character-based voice recognition capabilities to the virtual reality effect you feel from playing a game of Granny Shot, the game has no equal in the world of family entertainment.”

Developed by 2K’s Cat Daddy Games, the studio behind the successful Carnival Games franchise that has sold more than 7 million units worldwide, Carnival Games: Monkey See, Monkey Do also features midway classics that are completely re-imagined to be controller-free for Kinect for Xbox 360, including Alley Ball, Strength Test, Court King and Wheel of Chance. All manner of interactive prizes and surprises await players, such as animated pet dragons, robot cowboys and flying bears.

The immersive experience is enhanced as gamers challenge each other playing as their Xbox Avatars. In addition, tickets can be redeemed to acquire a wide variety of outfits, including Ninja, Swashbuckler, Viking and Wild West costumes. A special Carnival Games’ avatar collection will be available on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft featuring a stylish array of Barker accessories, and the game will be enhanced with downloadable content in the future.

As no family game night is complete without snacks, Carnival Games: Monkey See, Monkey Do includes a coupon for a free package of Jolly Time popcorn, redeemable at retailers throughout North America, and a recipe for Monkey Barker Popcorn Pops. The game is being supported by a marketing campaign that includes television advertising on major networks and national programs such as “American Idol” and “Dancing with the Stars.”

XBox 360 & Kinect with 2 games giveaway!

A few weeks ago I gave everyone a good scare (myself included) and as I tweeted from the hospital the King himself gave me a gift of an XBox 360 & Kinect, I was trying to win one just like everyone else. I cant wait! It’s by far the most popular video game gift of the season.

I went to my friends at Burger King (because they partnered with Microsoft for the release of this amazing game system) and asked if I could share the joy of giving a family a Kinect prize pack because this will really help out with their holiday shopping! Of course was their answer!

The Prize Pack includes an Xbox 360 4GB console, Kinect sensor and two games – Kinect ADVENTURES and Kinect SPORTS. Along with the Kinect, Burger King will give the lucky winner a $10 Burger King Crown Card.

While running around, picking up presents this holiday season, be sure to stop by Burger King to fuel up with a hot, flame-broiled WHOPPER or my new favorite TENDERGRILL Chicken Sandwich. It’s a great pit stop this holiday season, although we’ll be saving someone a drive from picking up the xbox 360 & Kinect from a store.

How to win it… Contest ends 11:59pm EST. December 17th, 2010.
