Yo Gabba Gabba: There is a party in your city kick off!

Yo Gabba Gabba: There is a party in your city kick off!

I’ll start with last thing first (mainly I’m waiting on a few things before I can do a full post on the Huggies Jean Diapers events (awesome coupons for you my readers & an laugh out loud video promotion).

If you’ve been asleep at the wheel the tour was announced yesterday with a ton of fanfare, hopefully you’ve seen some of it from DaDa Rocks.  The 60 city tour has a partnership with Habitat for Humanity where $1 from every ticket sold will be donated (that’s a lot of tickets).

The Dance Party was great! It was packed and crazy and it was a PARTY!  Kids from all over to have their pictures taken with the Yo Gabba Gabba gang and give hi-fives.

Of course if you watch as much of the show as the kids do you’ll have a bound to the characters and to the show. I know I certainly do…  American Express presale started today. Next up will be Yo Gabba Gabba Mailing List Presale/Code word presales then general ticket sales – my money is it sells out most stops!

I was able to Marc to the first round of live shows in New York and he sat there the entire time in complete amazement! I’m hoping for similar results this time around!

Today’s highlight by far was the following video….

Moving the herd of people on twitter – does friday follow still matter?

Moving the herd of people on twitter – does friday follow still matter?

One of the most useful tool for me to get the word out about my blog is twitter.  Every Friday is something labeled Friday Follow (in the dad blog world its Fatherhood Follow/Fatherhood Friday) in short its #FF [Link].

I post three lists: the dads, the moms, and the brands/groups/others.  Theses are getting to be longer and longer as I’ve been starting to diageset more and more information from the twitter stream.  When I started with 200 followings I found it a little tough I’m now following over 1,000 mom/dad twitters/bloggers.  I’m reading as much content that I can and find it to be nearly as easy (or hard) as following 200 when I first started.

I’m usually put in a few lists and I do see ten plus new followers on Fridays but sometimes I gain more on a random Tuesday. So the question tonight is that is Friday Follow meaningless? Have we lost the meaning? Should there be a limit say one or two amazing people? Conan O’Brien followed his first person today after a few hours she had about seven thousand others, now that’s the power to direct traffic.

At web 2.0 expo there was a discussion about how people are just like animals that we move in herds or packs.  There was a great video that showed people moving and acting like a herd.  I now present to you the crazy guy dancing video…

Let me know your thoughts on friday follow, do you think its still plays a part in growing or directing the audience?

One is a voice, many is a revolution

One is a voice, many is a revolution

It must of been rough since Friday was a snow day there was no post, no I wasn’t snowed in from my computer but I carry DaDa Rocks like a job so my office was closed so was the blog.

Ok great that explains Friday – its now Tuesday where was Monday’s post…  Well thats simple I was working on a super secret project (ok its no so secret if you’re a dad and follow my twitter feed) but none the less no URLs will be given out just yet.

Last night a bunch of Dads got together online to discuss working together on a collaborative project.  There are Stay at home dads, working dads, east coast dads, west coast dads, centralized dads, and northern and of course southern dads as well.  Its the idea that we each speak our own mind and its a voice but if we join forces to work on this project it might just be a revolution.

I found this image of the Losties from Springfield Punx [Link] and I kind of imagine that’s what the group will look like one day.  There are elements inside of the TV show lost that I do really like – the people dynamic from season 1 & 2 are now just replaced by time travel and dead people coming back to life but at the core to me was season 1 & 2 was about building a team; building a community.

There are many different ways community is formed but for the dad blogger thats a little harder.  While there are trends these days to poo-poo us for wanting to join the blogosphere, mainly because there are a few bad apples in the game for a quick buck. There are others who are making a real go at it…

I hope the state of the dad blog stays strong – I hope what this group of dad bloggers builds is something special and something that lasts. Stayed tuned to the revolution!
