The investigation is coming home. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has announced that Lanterns: The Complete First Season will arrive on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on February 9, 2027, bringing DC Studios’ eight-episode superhero mystery to physical media. Preorders are being promoted now.

Starring Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan and Aaron Pierre as John Stewart, Lanterns takes a grounded approach to DC’s cosmic mythology. The two Green Lanterns investigate a murder in the American heartland, where an Earth-based mystery points toward much bigger stakes.

Our take: A great superhero drama

Having watched Season One, I thought Lanterns was a great superhero drama. What makes the series compelling is that it works as a character-driven investigation, not simply as another showcase for superpowers. The relationship between its two leads and the mystery at the center give the story a dramatic pull that reaches beyond the usual comic-book spectacle.

That balance makes it especially appealing to DC fans who enjoy a more grounded, mature story. It is worth noting that Lanterns is rated TV-MA; this is a recommendation for adult superhero-drama viewers, not younger children.
