Men of a Certain Age: The Complete First Season Review and Giveaway

Getting old sucks, button line… being a dad is mostly awesome… but then you start to figure things out all those al bundy like characters shown on TV dads suck. So you start looking for better examples and better TV – I was turned on to Men of a Certain Age after season 1 had ended and I never got to see an episode.  I started seeing promo for season two that wraps up this week on TNT but you can always catch up on season to via the TNT website and thanks to Chevy its commercial free.

Ray Romano, Andre Braugher, and Scott Bakula are the main characters all guys who are hitting that certain point in life clearly noticing their not spring chickens. They’re three college friends who are getting into the deep end of their 40s, dealing with the pitfalls of their lives and the struggles that go with it.

Men of a Certain Age focuses on Joe (Ray Romano), a friendly, 40-something, slightly neurotic, recently separated father of two who had dreams of being a professional golfer but instead owns and runs a party store. Joe hangs out with his two best friends, Owen and Terry. Owen (Andre Braugher) is an overstressed husband and father who is a car salesman at his dad’s dealership. Terry (Scott Bakula) is an offbeat, handsome, intelligent and still-struggling-to-make-it actor. The three men have been best friends since college but now, in their 40s, are navigating through the second act of their lives.

This is NOT a comedy although it has some comic moments, it really tries to depict something close to real life. I really like this series and looking forward to catching up on season 2 over the next week or so.  Its a very easy to watch series you could knock it out over two weeks.
