Pampers gives back to Nurses who give so much those first few moments and days!

harper-firstI have had a long standing relationship with Pampers and am honored to say I was one of the first dads invited to be part of the Pampers Baby Board. Over the years I’ve gifted hundreds of diapers to people and charities, and Pampers was especially helpful when they answered my call to assist after Hurricane Sandy.  So, when I saw the group of people Pampers wanted to support next, it didn’t take but a second to say yes.

Pampers would like to say Thank You to the nurses for the support that happens leading up to those memories of birth and their  help facilitating strong relationships between newborns and their parents during the very crucial first minutes, hours and days of life.

first-moments-with-marcIn collaboration with the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) and the National Association of Neonatal Nurses (NANN), Pampers has launched the 2nd annual Pampers Swaddlers Thank You Nurses Awards to honor Labor & Delivery nurses, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit nurses and Postpartum nurses around the country. Now through January 27, 2017, I am asking you to talk about this program and invite other parents, co-workers, family members and friends to nominate and share the story of an extraordinary nurse who provided your babies and families with special touches of love.

All you have to do is ask them to nominate that special nurse that went above and beyond at www.pampers.com/thankyounurses – it’s that simple.  I can’t imagine what it’s like to be a nurse – seeing and dealing with the amazing joy and the other side of the spectrum but always having to be there and be smiling.

We’ve had three different and incredible delivery experiences over the years (and plenty of ER trips to the PICU) and while the faces and names changed, the amazing staff from NYU Langone Medical Center and New York-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital. The loving and caring support that we received from those nurses never did… When we had our first child we had the nurses help teach us breastfeeding, she even taught me how to swaddle Marc in those first few hours.  These nurses became part of our family for those first few days, caring for the new borns and equally caring for my wife.
