The Beat Bugs jam on Netflix

Beat Bugs is an Emmy award winning animated kids series created by Josh Wakely featuring music inspired by The Beatles. Currently a hit on Netflix, the story revolves around the lives of five best friends, charming and funny childlike bugs who explore and learn in their suburban backyard home. Each episode ties in a song made famous by The Beatles in an innocent and child-friendly fashion, sung by one of the characters or guest stars that include mega musicians like P!nk, Sia, Jennifer Hudson, Rod Stewart and more. Beat Bugs introduces a new generation to the music of the most influential band in rock history, The Beatles!

Beat Bugs and My Gym have struck a chord to activate a musically-inspired promotion at 178 My Gym locations in United States, United Kingdom and Australia this summer. In the months of June and July, children who attend classes at My Gym will enjoy Beat Bugs music, games and other fun activities, including coloring sheets and puppet shows.

It’s binge time – Netflix releases Marvel’s Luke Cage #StreamTeam

First there was Daredevil, then came Jessica Jones, Netflix is back today with Luke Cage, a new series devoted to the character that was first introduced in Jessica Jones.  This is the hero you’ve been waiting to see, you’ve seen how Netflix handles great hand to hand fight scenes but we really haven’t seen powers.

Luke Cage in my thought is even better then the prior Marvel shows on Netflix, Why? Cause here is a guy with real powers coming to learn how to use them and why to use them a true origin story of a hero.

Mike Colter’s presence as Luke Cage is perfection. Rosario Dawson makes an appearance as Claire, a cross over character between the Marvel shows.

Like other Marvel shows there is a dark edge but with moments of humors (which is the signature of Marvel entertainment).  The fight scenes are still amazing and you’ll be binge watching this series for sure!

Lets Binge! Daredevil & Bloodline Season 2 on Netflix #StreamTeam

On Netflix recently we saw 2 major releases that are totally worth your time to binge on, both of them are returning for season 2. The great thing about season 2 means there are over 10+ hours of content prior to jumping into the new season.

marvel-daredevil-season-2-easter-eggs-references_0Daredevil the hero from Marvel comics jumps right into were season 1 left off.  I really don’t want to spoil anything, so I wont but the “man without fear” is back at the top of his game, fighting crime and taking back his neighborhood of Hell Kitchen (in Manhattan, New York).  Season 1 was amazing in the way it was filmed, how the script came together and how the action/fight scenes were epic.  Season 2 doesn’t disappoint, with the introduction of a few of the best Marvel comic other heroes.

tumblr_inline_o4emttPIy31tbsl8q_1280Bloodline is a drama… a murder mystery hardcore DRAMA… at the end of many episodes of season 1 you’ll say what incredible talent and what an incredible story.  Season 2 also take off from the end of season 1 focusing on the surprise conclusion of season 1.  Kyle Chandler is outstanding in his role as the lead of the Rayburn family.

Danger Mouse launches on Netflix #streamteam

dangermouse_sdpI grew up with Danger Mouse, it had a over 8 years running starting in 1981.

The concept of the show was Danger Mouse, the greatest secret agent in the world, must follow Colonel K’s orders (and try not to break Professor Squawkencluck’s inventions) to foil Baron Greenback’s and his henchman Stiletto’s plans.

Now there isnt much difference in the plot between the original version verse the new version on netflix. Tbe big difference is the CG style animation, which looks pretty awesome.

I’m super excited to introduce my son to one of my favorite cartoon characters growing up – watch Danger Mouse on Netflix.

It’s time for Fuller House #StreamTeam

While most people would love to forget what they looked like in the 80’s (come on those fashions?!). There is one part of the 80’s that many find nostalgia for, which is the television shows… I dont know what it was but those 80’s generated many megahit TV shows… some carried on well into the 90’s.  Full House was a great example the changing times and modern family dynamics.

Well thanks to the super smart people at Netflix we now have a 6 episode season of Fuller House, pretty much fast forward 10 plus years later.  The show still lives up to the nostalgia factor for sure… its also pretty amazing how none of the cast has aged at all.

A recently widowed D.J., the mother of a 12-year-old, 7-year-old, and a newborn son, finds a few extra roommates in her sister, Stephanie, who is trying to be a musician, and her best friend Kimmy, who is the mother of a teenage daughter.

unnamedIts been a big month for Netflix in the Kids department it started with their original series of DRAGONS: RACE TO THE EDGE: SEASON 2 which for any Dragons fans has been a big hit.  Now they’re starting EVER AFTER HIGH: DRAGON GAMES, which I think will be a big hit with preteen girls.

Adding to ANGRY BIRDS TOONS Season 2, ICE AGE: THE MELTDOWN, SOFIA THE FIRST: SEASON 2. It would almost like just another month till you think about the amazing new episodes of Croods.

Dawn of the Croods is a great adventure for those that loved the movie… the series is a nice to keep moving the story forward. You can watch all of their pre-hysterical adventures now on Netflix.

5 Comedy Specials that will have you laughing on Netflix #StreamTeam

77731346-image-optimized_5539130de6a02I love to laugh… growing up in NYC on the weekends I would grab friends and head to Dangerfeld’s comedy club.  Over the years of going to see the shows I was lucky enough to catch Rodney at one of the shows.  He signed napkins for each of us, ragged on the comedians, and commented how he owned this joint and gets no respect.

So here are 5 comedy specials on Netflix worth checking out…

Louis CK – Live at the Beacon Theater — Louis talks a lot about his life as a dad and just people in general.  This set is amazing and will have you laughing your sides off.

Bill Burr – I’m Sorry you feel that way — I heard Bill first on the Opie & Anthony Radio show… and since then I’ve been a fan.  This set is really funny goes into pop culture which had me in tears.

Chris D’Elia – Incorrigible — You’ve most likely seen Chris on one of the 40 million ads for his great show in NBC undateable.  In this set he talks about how much fun the NFL could be with real animals… I had to pause the special to catch my breathe and refill my drink.

Iliza Shlesinger – Freezing Hot — Funny women in comedy is becoming common place (I think a lot in part to Tina Fey). Iliza does a great set about hashtags and a common problem of always being cold.

Aziz Ansari – Live at Madison Square Garden — Aziz could be one of the smartest comedians out there… This special is a little briany at times but still worth 58 minutes of your life.

If you dont like these five, then hopefully you’ll like my bonus picks of Lewis Black – Old Yeller – Live at the Borgata or Jim Gaffigan – Mr. Universe both had me laughing to the point I had tears in my eyes.
