Hey its Mothers Day – Did you completely forget?!

Hey its Mothers Day – Did you completely forget?!

Here is your quick recovery list

1) Get a card ASAP! cant get out of the house check out below for the “just print one at home” It is at the bottom of the post, just print it out sign your name (and your kids name too).

2) Get a gift ASAP! price isn’t the object here its the idea and thought that counts right? Maybe for you – for me I need to have something insightful and then something useful… Starbucks giftcard (useful) and an new iPhone Case (useful since she needs one that glows in the dark at this point :P).

Can you say your gift is in the mail? Sure, but it better be a damn fine gift… Here are some quick suggestions Jewelry from Tali Gillette [Link] she’s got an amazing MAMA necklace. What about photography setup a session with Suzanne Cohen Photography [Link] she’ll capture this moment in time for your family. Gift Cards to a Spa – you know she’s working 24/7 to keep the family happy the best gift is a few hours off and someone pampering her! Let her shop – retail therapy is a real thing! Drop a gift card to her favorite shop – cant pick just one try getting a gift card to an entire mall or try a prepaid AMEX or VISA.

3) Its her day give her whatever she wants/needs/deserves most of all remember what you do today will come back to you in a month when all you’ll want is a 12 pack of cold beers and a ball game on TV (maybe a BBQ with the family at the end).

4) Break out of the routine – while keeps everything moving forward it – it also makes it feel same old/same old – try something new – try something different. If nothing else is a story, but you might just find that you get a little glimmer back in her eyes that there is life post kids.

That’s it! Here’s the card that you can print out in case you’re really locked up at home!

First time to an arena sporting event: MSG New York Rangers

First time to an arena sporting event: MSG New York Rangers

Today was a big milestone for Marc it was his first major sporting event.  He loved it (at least I’d like to think so)… Marc is now 19 months old, we didn’t do baseball with him last year because he was a little young. We’ve taken him over the last year to a few live shows/concerts and he seemed to liked them.

I finally said its time pulled the pin and took him a major sporting event! The best part is that it was at Madison Square Garden (MSG).  Ok I hear my Yankees & Mets fan getting upset already… but to me I have a ton of memories from watching the islanders play against the rangers as a kid being taken to MSG for games or the circus (which is coming soon!).

Sure the seats where in the 300’s but it wasn’t about watching the game and we didn’t stay for the whole game made it in to the very end of the second period.  It was the fact that Marc sat on my lap watched the Rangers while eating bites of a hotdog.

This summer we’ve got big plans together… I haven’t been to either of the new baseball stadiums in New York (Yankees or Citi-field) we will be going to both.  This is just the start of the memories of major milestones in Marc’s sporting history but it will be a great beginning and will make for great stories.

In advanced (and a little belated) to the people we seat behind, I’m sorry that Marc will at some point accidentally kicks you in the head. I kid… I kid…

Do you have a mini me?

Do you have a mini me?

Just had to include it... too cute

Since the day my child was born it was scary how much he looked like me.  My wife really enjoyed hearing time and time again “did you have anything to do with this child?” sure its not like she didn’t carry him for the 9 and half months or anything.  Scary thing is Marc really is my mini me right now.

For the evidence here are some young pictures of me…

Here are some pictures of Marc over the last year plus…

I cant wait to see who Marc becomes in the future… watching him grown up before my eyes is amazing everyday its something new.  A new word, a new move, and a new ability to comprehend a task or activity. Maybe its not about seeing into the future to see who Marc will look like because the past is always a tell.  Here is a picture of my Grandfather (Marc’s great grandfather) with my Grandmother, father and two uncles.

What do you think scary enough?  So who does your child look like?

With an economy like this who needs friends…

With an economy like this who needs friends…

Today the president of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, Janet L. Yellen said that a sharp increase in worker productivity was “here to stay.”

She predicted that unemployment, now at 9.7 percent, would fall to 9.25 percent by the end of the year and around 8 percent by the end of 2011. And she described the current inflation rate as “undesirably low.”

But overall this wouldn’t be operating at its full potential until 2013 [Link to NY Time Article].  I’m working a lot, I have a 9-5, I do freelance website design, programming, and development along with aspects of social media marketing, and assist my wife with her business from time to time.  So the question who needs friends is really where do I have time for friends.

How are you dealing with the juggle?
